Youth Training and Awareness on Climate Change

Objective:

To educate high-school black and Latinos on the environment and what environmental justice or racism means. To address climate change, our target communities must understand how they are affected. Plant a seed of climate justice advocacy to champion the fight against climate change to ensure action is taken now and not later.

Design:

This approach is designed for High school students.

Structure:

A 4-month program designed to have three program/ calendar years. The first four weeks of literacy
training on environmental justice, climate change, and leadership training.

Selected students from the program will embark on a 3-month Ambassadorship program, where they
are planted in their local high school as climate and environmental justice ambassadors. Each month the
ambassador will plan outreach to educate fellow students within the school on environmental justice
and climate change.
