THE BAYI FOUNDATION TEAM

FullTeam-About

The horizon of possibility for many people in the world is bleak. Their dreams and ambitions are hidden by a lack of access to capital, which leaves them starting their own business life on an uphill slope that they will never be able to climb. BAYI Foundation is working to change that by providing small business owners in the underrepresented markets in Africa and the USA with the tools they need to thrive in today’s global economy. We work directly with entrepreneurs, investors, and other stakeholders to help them achieve their goals.

We focus on catalytic, patient capital for SMEs across all stages of development post-revenue through expansion into new markets or product lines. This means we invest not only in ideas but also in people – entrepreneurs who have the potential for growth but lack access to traditional funding sources.

“Our mission is to provide support at critical points along the journey from idea generation through sales and marketing efforts, management capacity building, and regional expansion strategies so that each entrepreneur can succeed where others have failed.”

Who we are

OUR STORY

BAYI Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established to build and support sustainable social and economic growth in underserved communities by supporting small businesses. The Foundation is committed to channeling catalytic financing, training, and mentorship to build and support sustainable social and economic growth in underserved market through small-medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) support. We leverage broad-based partnerships, collaborating with private and institutional investors to provide patient capital to entrepreneurs with potential for growth in challenging markets.

Our History

BAYI Foundation was founded
by Temidayo Adebayo

An African who learned from his experience of living and working in the United States that entrepreneurship is the only way to unlock the opportunities that exist in Africa to ensure that the continent reaches its potential.

How do we
help businesses?

TheHub, a brainchild of BAYI Foundation, was designed to support the strategic growth of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) by focusing on education and resources required to attract external growth capital. This program offers a four-stage business development initiative that helps address these gaps by providing SMEs with the needed business support training. After the initial stage, they are paired with experienced consultants to aid them in structuring efficient and sustainable operations for their company while also preparing for investment through mentorship to ensure compliance with ESG standards used when screening potential investments.

It gets better!

SMEs also get to leverage a vast network of connections from BAYI and our esteemed partners, thus helping them grow their business and recruit more talent in a structured and sustainable manner.

In addition, our dedicated team of staff will be on hand to assist every step of the way.

Why should you partner with us?

Our program is built on three pillars:

Financial Inclusion and Education

Did you know a whopping 90% of all businesses come from SMEs, and more than 50% of
employment globally? SMEs provide a crucial contribution to developing economies while
providing sustainable jobs that contribute billions in GDP!
Unfortunately, the Covid-19 pandemic has had a significant effect on the world economy, and now
more than ever, we need to support small businesses that have been disproportionately affected.

Gender
Equality

Despite the modern world’s social progress, women are still striving for equality in employment
and pay. The gender wage gap has been a contentious issue for decades but continues to persist
despite women’s strides in terms of educational attainment.
The Fellowship stage of our program involves hiring a consulting team made up of an experienced
business consultant and student interns (more than 50% of whom are female) to provide advisory
support to SMEs (which already includes women-owned or led enterprises.). The interns are

mentored by and work with the consultant, gaining exposure to small business operations and
sustainability initiatives.

Through this program, we expect:
•  An exponential impact of young women getting more opportunities and experience.
•  More female-owned businesses being part of the success rate of small businesses in Africa and
the USA.
•  Women having the skills and knowledge to boost their career profile and confidence, closing the
gender pay gap.

Youth
Development

TheHub provides an opportunity for young professionals to spread their wings and fly. The
program addresses skill and knowledge gaps, which are barriers to youth employability and
success at business enterprises.
Youths who partake in this program harness their talent and have marketable skills that make them
more attractive to potential employers.
For organizations whose passions align with our mission and goals, this is a chance to work on an
exciting project that will help inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs.
You’ll be able to implement innovative ideas that could change lives forever!
